The Medical Affairs Manager (MAM) is a key scientific, strategic, and operational leadership role within Medison Pharma Czech Republic.
The MAM provides expert medical support including educating the local sales and marketing team as needed. They will be an expert on the disease areas under their responsibility and will ensure their knowledge is current and thorough.
In addition to core Medical Affairs responsibilities, this position includes selected Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, and Quality activities, reflecting the needs of a dynamic and lean affiliate organization.
The MAM serves as a key bridge between medical, regulatory, and quality functions, ensuring that all activities meet Czech regulatory requirements (SÚKL) and internal standards.
Supports the Country/ Cluster Medical Head in creating the Medical Customer Engagement Strategy and the Medical Affairs project-plan for Medical Launch Excellence and successful Life Cycle Management fully in line with brand strategies and company objectives to meet the predefined targets of the affiliate medical affairs department.
The MAM reports to the Country/ Cluster Medical Head.
Areas of Responsibility
1.Medical Strategy & Scientific Leadership
• Co-lead the development and execution of the Medical Customer Engagement Strategy and annual Medical Affairs Plan.
• Support launch readiness, lifecycle management, and cross‑functional brand planning.
• Ensure scientific excellence and serve as the subject matter expert for assigned disease areas.
2.External Stakeholder Engagement
• Build and maintain strong scientific relationships with KOLs, HCPs, and medical societies.
• Lead scientific discussions and support advisory boards, symposia, and expert meetings.
• Engage with Patient Advocacy Groups (PAGs) in full compliance with local regulations and internal SOPs.
3.Evidence Generation & Insights
• Support local aspects of investigator‑initiated research and other scientific projects.
• Identify data gaps and collaborate on real‑world evidence opportunities.
• Routinely collect medical insights to inform strategy and strengthen brand plans.
4.Scientific Communication & Education
• Communicate complex scientific data to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Provide training and scientific support to internal teams.
• Lead disease‑awareness and scientific education activities across the market.
5.Material Review & Compliance
• Review and approve promotional and non‑promotional materials in accordance with Medison SOPs and local regulations.
• Ensure excellence in pharmacovigilance, risk management, and ethical conduct.
6.Collaboration on Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance and Quality Topics
• Work with regulatory colleagues on local regulatory processes and requirements
• Support SÚKL reporting obligations (e.g. REG-13)
• Preparation and submission of an application to import foreign-language packaging for a drug
• Coordinate responses to health authority (SÚKL) requests where relevant
• Support a strong safety culture by collaborating with pharmacovigilance colleagues
• Contribute to implementation of risk management activities
• Support preparedness for inspections and audits
7.Patient Access Support
• Facilitate local early access to therapies in high unmet medical‑need situations.
• Collaborate with Market Access on clinical or scientific aspects relevant to reimbursement.
8.Internal Collaboration
• Work closely with Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory, Finance, and Global Medical counterparts.
• Act as a scientific partner and trusted medical partner within the affiliate.
Required education and experience
• A strong bio-science education background with a medical degree (Doctor of Medicine (MD)) or similar advanced completed University degree (Master, PhD, or PharmD) in a health-related scientific field such as Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, etc. is required.
• Requires an experienced MAM/Medical Advisor/MSL with at least 5 years in pharmaceutical/biotechnology and in a similar role.
• Candidates must have experience working in innovative companies and on innovative drugs.
• Ideally worked in Rare Diseases or Vaccines and has built solid contacts to top KOLs in the country.
• Strong scientific/clinical and medical affairs knowledge
• Experience managing medical-scientific projects (e.g., medical studies) end-to-end.
• Experience discussing on and off label clinical and scientific concepts.
• Experience using data insights to decide next actions to enhance customer experience.
• Experience working with different healthcare stakeholders.
• Good understanding of local healthcare environment
• Ideally worked in rare diseases or vaccines and has built solid contacts to top KOLs in the country.
• Previous experience of product launches is desired.
