Responsibilities
As the Supply Chain Director EPM, you will lead and oversee end-to-end supply chain functions working to enhance performance, ensure alignment with strategic goals, and drive operational efficiency. Reporting directly to the Head of Technical Operations EPM, you will provide leadership to cross-functional teams and manage critical supply chain processes, including customer service, purchasing, distribution, and planning.
Member of the EPM Technical Operations Management Team at Medison and a key function in determining policies and strategies for the short and long term.
- Drive supply chain initiatives to improve performance, efficiency, and alignment with company goals. Identify potential risks within the supply chain (e.g., supply shortages, quality issues, ...) and implement mitigation strategies.
- Develop and implement strategic supply chain plans to support the organization’s growth and ensure alignment with Division goals
- As required, represent SC in business cases with potential new partners or geo-expansions projects. Lead implementation of new businesses from Supply Chain perspective to ensure successful product launches and/or business continuity.
- Develop and manage the supply chain budget, driving cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality or service levels.
- Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings, consolidating data and ensuring stakeholder alignment.
- Oversee relationships with key partners, including distributors and logistics service providers, to maintain quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure timely purchasing of goods, conduct regular performance reviews of distributors and logistics service providers, and drive improvements to meet requirements.
- Oversee customer service functions, setting goals and managing order processing, delivery, and invoicing.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for supply chain issues, collaborating with affiliates and regional teams to address challenges swiftly and maintain operational continuity.
- Lead distribution processes, including selecting and overseeing 3PL providers and local distributors to ensure optimization of costs, on-time delivery, business continuity and service consistency.
- Collaborate with logistics providers and internal teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery operations, proactively addressing and resolving any distribution issues as they arise.
- Oversee demand planning to ensure forecasts accurately reflect customer needs, optimizing inventory levels to balance service, quality and cost efficiency.
- Optimize ERP processes to enhance efficiency in order-to-cash and inventory management, ensuring seamless operations and data accuracy across the supply chain.
- Partner with Quality, Regulatory Affairs/Pharmacovigilance (RA/PV), Finance, IT, and commercial affiliates to streamline operations, ensuring compliance and alignment with business objectives.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across all areas of the supply chain, including procurement, distribution, and customer service. Analyse KPI trends to proactively address issues, improve operational efficiency, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering continuous improvement and “always ahead” behaviour.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Significant pharmaceutical experience in supply chain or other relevant operational areas with at least 10 years personnel management experience or a senior position in a significant business corporation.
- Strong understanding of technical and regulatory requirements.
- Project Management experience.
- Excellent communication, organizational, negotiation, and presentation skills; maintains high ethical standards and enjoys working with people and information, making decisions, and working in a leadership role.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross functional team and independently in a remote work setting, as necessary.
- Strong knowledge of GDP, and other pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Kinaxis, etc) and data analytics tools (Power BI, etc.)
- Ability to motivate.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English. Additional languages are preferred.
