The Cluster Medical Head/Country Medical Head (CMH/MH) (m/d/f) is the senior medical representative in the cluster operation and consequently bears strategic and operational accountability for the medical function

The Reporting is directly to the Medical Director CEE and working in a matrix manner and dotted line to the Cluster Head. In this regionally based position, the Cluster Medical Head/Country Medical Head is an impactful member of the cross functional Cluster leadership team. the job holder will be located, (depending for which of the clusters he/she is responsible for,) in one of our European hub offices in Kaunas/Lithuania, Bucharest/Romania, Warsaw/Poland or Athens/Greece.

This is a hybrid role as the Cluster Medical Head/Country Medical Head job holder will be responsible as well for managing all medical activities for the products in their respective country in which he/she will be located.

Responsibilities

  • The CMH/MH works in close partnership with the General Manager of the country in which he resides and with the Cluster Head and Affiliate team. She/he will oversee and  collaborate with Medison’s partners and provide support to the local affiliates in the specific cluster region within EPM.
  • (S)he is responsible for overseeing all  all aspects of Medical Affairs (MA) in the cluster affiliates, inclusive of having medical strategy and plans in place, team leadership and development and ensuring that  all medical activities for the products under their responsibility in their respective cluster are in place . support the business needs and fully executed..
  • The CMH/MH will be the primary contact for the cluster Medical organization (Field- and Office-based Medical teams), and will lead the Affiliate Medical Heads (MHs), Medical Affairs Managers (MAMs) and Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs)
  • The CMH/MH leads a team of medical affairs  experts on the Medison products in their respective cluster, disease states, and areas of medical activities . In this position he/she drives meaningful interactions  with Healthcare professionals (HCPs, and supports the creation of meaningful educational activities and medically led initiatives that enables appropriate patient access of our medication
  • The CMH/MH job holder is shaping the development of the medical  cluster strategy and go-to-market approaches for the medical organization via therapeutic area clinical knowledge and insight gathered from HCP and other market interactions. The CMH/MH translates strategic imperatives into actionable medical initiatives and ensures it’s compliant execution in close collaboration with Medical Director CEE, marketing function and other internal stakeholders.
  • Overall, the CMH/MH is a leadership position and operates in full alignment with the Medical Director EPM to translate the company vision, strategy, goals, tactics and initiatives for the office- and field-based medical team in the specific disease areas within the cluster and ensures timely execution.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree such as MD/PhD or advanced degree in DVM or PharmD
  • over 10 years of experience in the pharma industry in medical , clinical development or commercial roles.
  • Proven people management and leadership experience is a must. At least 5 years’ of experience in a country / region Medical Affairs leadership position.
  • Fluent written and verbal language skills in English, and at least one local cluster language.
  • Proven in-depth scientific knowledge of the relevant therapeutic areas and related disease states; displays a natural curiosity to learn and build scientific expertise.
  • Significant experience working in an international, matrix environment enables to effectively interact with and influence colleagues across functions and geographies.
  • Previous engagement in rare disease franchises is an advantage
  • Result-oriented problem solver, and strong prioritization and decision- making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills paired with strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of the cross-functional interface between, Marketing, Market Access, Regulatory, Clinical Development, Medical and Public Affairs.
  • Excellent leadership capabilities with high emotional intelligence and ability to shape and influence. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and coach scientific/medical colleagues at all skill and knowledge levels.
