Medison Pharma to represent exclusively Amgen's products in Israel

Medison Pharma has signed an agreement with Amgen for exclusive representation of Amgen's products in the fields of Oncology, Hematology and Nephrology in Israel, effective January 1, 2010. After a detailed assessment procedure, Amgen choose Medison Pharma to be its sole representative for the products Aranesp, Mimpara, Vectibix and Nplate in Israel, concluding that Medison Pharma met Amgen's high quality assurance demands. Meir Jakobsohn, Medison Pharma president said that "By signing the agreement with Amgen, Medison Phrama is strengthening its high quality niche pharmaceutical products line in the Nephrology, Oncology and Hematology fields". Medison Pharma will market Amgen's following products: Aranesp ARANESP® is indicated for the treatment of symptomatic anaemia associated with chronic renal failure (CRF) in adults and pediatric subjects ≥ 11 years of age. ARANESP® 150mcg, 300mcg and 500mcg are indicated for the treatment of symptomatic anemia in adult cancer patients with non-myeloid malignancies receiving chemotherapy. Mimpara Mimpara is indicated for treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism (HPT) in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) on maintenance dialysis therapy. Mimpara may be used as part of a therapeutic regimen including phosphate binders and/or Vitamin D sterols, as appropriate. Mimpara is also indicated for the reduction of hypercalcaemia in patients with parathyroid carcinoma. Vectibix Vectibix is indicated as monotherapy for the treatment of patients with EGFR expressing metastatic colorectal carcinoma with non-mutated (wild-type) KRAS after failure of fluoropyrimidine-, oxaliplatin-, and irinotecan-containing chemotherapy regimens. NPlate Nplate is indicated for adult chronic immune (idiopathic) thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) splenectomised patients who are refractory to other treatments (e.g. corticosteroids, immunoglobulins). Nplate may be considered as second line treatment for adult non-splenectomised patients where surgery is contra-indicated.
